Giving Thanks

Taking a moment to give thanks for the things that keep me sane, such as exploring a new trail in an old park with friends, both old and new.  For streams and leaves and colors and trees, and the joy of photographing it all.

Gateway Trail ~ Catoctin Mountain Park

A few weeks ago I was a little starved for snow (not so much now) and was rewarded by the 8.5 mile loop at Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland, 1 hr 20 min outside of DC.  The snow depth ranged from just a few inches to almost a foot at different parts of the mountain.

With the latest winter storm in DC (fed govt closed today!) more opportunities for snow and ice pics. To be continued.

Catching my breath at Catoctin

Saturday was sunny, 60, and springy... a perfect day to roam around Catoctin Mountain Park.  Several overlooks and lots of hills to keep my heart racing.
