More sunflowers

 The solitude and splendor of this rainy sunflower field still cheers me up even a few weeks later.  Playing with my macro lens on these.

Friday during a summer rain storm, I visited one of the sunflower fields out at McKee Beshers Wildlife Management Area.  It was just me, the rain, and the entire sunflower field for over an hour (a fleeting escape from the stress of what was my week).  And my new toy - a small waterproof compact camera that has amazing close-up capabilities.  You can see the reflection of the field in just this one raindrop.  More sunflower photos to come.  

Sunflower Fields

Today visited a wildlife management area near Poolsville, MD, less than an hour out of the city, to enjoy a few of the sunflower fields that are peaking now.  It was warm and muggy but worth it, especially once we found a hidden field away from the parking areas where there were few people and a drone videographer getting ready to launch.

 Last weekend made it out to McKee Beshers wildlife management area in montgomery county, near poolesville, MD, where there are several sunflower fields that pop out in the summer.  Although this field was slightly past peak, still a fine summery show.

Onto more pacifist endeavors at the nearby Peace Park, adjacent to a buddhist temple.
